About this deal

If you are starting a Khorne mortal army this is a good starting point as there are 3 heroes, 1 elite unit and 2 more battleline units, but remember you will need to integrate with more boxes to obtain the missing options.

Miniatures: 1 Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist/Zombie Dragon, 3 Crypt Horrors/Crypt Flayers, 10 Ghouls. Miniatures: 1 Scinari Cathallar, 5 Vanari Bladelords, 10 Vanarai Auralan Wardens, 10 Vanari Auralan Sentinels. Alter.:quite a lot of units in the boxes can be equipped in different ways. This can either change the point value slightly for the unit or even make a completely different type of unit. This is the number of alternative builds in the box. This is an interesting box. It contains everything you might want for the core of a Maggotkin army with a saving that’s more than the cost of the Pusgoyle Blightlords alone. A second one of these or just a second Pusgoyle Blightlords kit can be built with a Lord of Afflictions to beef up your hero options. Games Workshop started strong with this one. However you want to assemble the different sets, you will have enough material here by purchasing multiple boxes.Miniatures: 1 Branchwych, 1 Treelord/Treelord Ancient/Spirit of Durthu, 3 Kurnoth Hunters with Greatbows/Greatswords/Scythes, 5 Tree-Revanants/Spite-Revenants. Other criticism are minor, the units are more old school Nighthaunt and really only work well in 2 processions (Sub factions) – Emerald Host and Grieving Legion. Bladegheist Revenants would have had more options than the Grimghast. None of the new scuplts (Craventhrone Guard, Scriptor Mortis or Awlach the Drowner) are included and as a direct match up, it is weaker than the other Vanguard boxes released on the same schedule. That said this box is more of an option for multiple copies than the other 2 (although 2 Warpfire Cannons might not be terrible). The big guy is the Gothizzar Harvester, a giant construct able to resurrect or heal nearby units when other Ossiarch units are depleted around it. Basically you have a 50% chance to resurrect any slain Mortek Guard making the two a viable couple for holding objectives.

This one contains a Grey Seer as a leader, 3 Stormfiends that are always useful in a Skaven army, 20 Clanrats that represent the main battleline and an artillery piece. The Grey Knights one is similar to the Hexfire box, so if you grabbed that one, this might still have some value. Because who doesn’t need more minis, and they switched out the Crowe for the Terminators. So some pretty decent stuff overall. These ratty cannoneers can often get a little overconfident, though, overcharging the warp generators of the cannon, often with disastrous consequences for the crew and whatever is on the business end of this Clans Skryre monstrosity.**Another year another set of battle boxes. this time with more boxes available than we’ve seen before. last year we had 4 and this time we have 7. The Saurus Warriors are one of your main battleline and, unless you point have on Skinks, one of which you will need a fair bit. The Kroxigor can become battleline but in general they are your elite Saurus force and they can even be assembled in two different types (the Kroxigor Warspawned being the other). The Pusgoyle set allows to build alternatively a single Lord of Afflictions, since the sprue is for 2 models you would normally be left with a spare Pusgoyle, but since AoS 3.0, there’s now a point cost for single model-units (cannot be reinforced, while the 2 models version could be). In the table below you can see all of the different value added boxes for Age of Sigmar. It will give you the perfect overview of cost, savings, points values and a direct link to a shop where (based on your location) you can actually get the box much cheaper. Rising from their graves to reignite their war against the living, the Nighthaunt come prepared with a Vanguard box full of spectral soldiers. With a grim hero leading an otherworldly battleline, this is a great way to start a new army – or reinforce an existing one. 20 groaning Chainrasps flow across the battlefield in a wave of incorporeal death, while 10 Grimghast Reapers, three Spirit Hosts, and a macabre Knight of Shrouds set to stripping fresh souls from their victims.

If you are interested instead only on one of the four components of the army, this box fails to attract any attention. Overall, this can be a fun project but not a great place to start a Gitz army unless it’s a mixed one taking advantage of the new battletome. Seraphon used to have a Start Collecting for Seraphon mostly concentrated on the old Saurus kits, and one for Skinks. Now both have been replaced with the new Vanguard box that makes the best out of the brand-new sculpts both of the Saurus Warriors and of the Kroxigors. The new Vanguard box for Orruk Warclans replaces the Kruleboyz Boss Krew set (itself part of the Dominion introductory set) and the Ironjawz Start Collecting. This new box contains two heroes (one melee and one support), a generic battleline (Gutrippaz), a conditional battleline in a Kruleboyz subfaction and an artillery piece (Beast-skewer Killbow). Miniatures: 1 Lord-Celestant on Dracoth, 1 Lord-Relictor, 3 Retributors, 3 Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers, 10 Liberators. For those eager to overrun the foolish Mortal Realms, this Vanguard box makes an ideal starting point for a Skaven collection – or a simple way to expand your verminous swarm – and will also save you money compared to buying the contents individually. With a Hero, Battleline, Artillery, and additional support, this set offers a complete army in a box for you to bring to the tabletop in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

The ratmen use a steady stream of fodder to fight their wars and excel at constantly expanding their territory through sheer weight of numbers. When the time comes to strike, the skaven burst from tunnels through reality in seething tides. They utilize everything from peculiar devices, filthy magics, virulent toxins, mutated beasts, and even the daemonic avatars of the Horned Rat to tear down the works of civilisation. Their strength is in their nearly limitless supply of warriors and the accumulation of vast hordes of warpstone – solidified crystals of raw Chaos energy – to power both their sorcery and their technology.
