btw I take the whippy end off a dressage whip and put a flap of neoprene there instead to soften it, so I can use it for 'tapping' like tap-tap-tap on the shoulder when you want the shoulder to move away from you - it doesn't have that sting to it that implies 'punishment' that a standard schooling whip has.
