The SkyPAD 3.0 is the fastest pad I’ve ever tested, and if you are looking for a frictionless gliding experience this could really be it. It does come with a number of caveats, however. The pad’s hard and extremely smooth surface is completely unforgiving towards inconsistencies, be it with your mouse skates or your surface (think hairs, dander, …) so you will want to keep a cloth handy. Make sure it’s not a wet cloth, though, since the surface obviously won’t handle humidity very well due to the fact that it can’t absorb any of it. And last, but not least, it’s also a very loud mousepad. It’s not that bad when just gliding around with your mouse, but if you’re often resetting your mouse after swiping there’s definitely a lot of noise going on.

If you’re looking for a glass mouse pad, Skypad’s Mousepad 3.0 is an excellent option. You already know I’m inexplicably in love with the Razer Atlas, and the Mousepad 3.0 is, frankly, very, very similar in feel and performance. My two main concerns with the Atlas were its size, because it felt just a little too large to be easily incorporated in most desk setups, and its durability — mostly because Razer warns against using soap or harsh cleaning agents to clean the Atlas’s surface, likely to prevent removal of the oleophobic coating. I remember some of the earliest mice in Sun SPARCstations, which in 1989 already used an optical sensor but required a metal pad with optical markings etched into it to work. While the precision and speed was much better than the mechanical mice of the day (much less effort cleaning them, too), I quite remember being constantly irked by the metal's higher level of thermal conductivity: the right palm of my hand always felt a bit cold and that might have permanently biased me against anything pad underneath my mice. The SkyPAD 3.0 is built for speed, and our testing and my personal experiences can attest to the fact that the brand has succeeded on this front. This is without a doubt the fastest pad I’ve ever laid my hands on. If you keep your fingers off of the surface itself, it almost feels as if your mouse is gliding in thin air. There’s really nothing stopping your mouse except for your own hands, and that’s a feeling that takes some getting used to. This method involves using the hairdryer to heat up the glue underneath the mouse feet. Once the glue has been heated long enough, use a spudger (a flat plastic tool with a sharp end) or a knife to scrape underneath the feet to peel them off — be careful if using a knife!

Recurring optional extras (Unlimited Calls and Texts and the International Saver) stay on your account each month until cancelled. If you are the sweatier type and an arm aimer I would also strongly recommend a gaming sleeve. That’s because of the fact that, once your forearm gets a little sweaty, it will drastically change your experience when swiping. Think of running your body/hand over a glass pane when it’s completely dry versus when it’s still a bit wet from showering or swimming. It feels different, and it might impact your consistency. Something else that can get annoying is the sound. When you swipe and put down your mouse on a cloth pad you might hear a muted thud that doesn’t really bother anyone, but the SkyPAD is definitely a loud one. It’s not as loud as someone who’s going to town on a glass cutting board or anything like that, but if someone was using this near me while I was trying to work or relax it would definitely bother me. That’s doesn’t necessarily have something to do with the performance of the product, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got housemates to consider. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, they have some awesome speed and racing slides. There's also a spiral water slide on some ships that take you spiraling around each other until you reach the pool below. Sky diving simulator

The pad itself is nicely finished. The edges are rounded and don’t feel sharp anywhere, the surface itself feels extremely smooth and natural to the touch, and the whole surface is perfectly level. Obviously this isn’t a very portable mousepad, so if you’re someone who is always gaming in different locations you should really consider if it’s worth the hassle to transport it all the time, but if you decide that it is you can rest assured that it’s decently sturdy. I didn’t throw it to the floor or anything, but I treated it like I would any regular (hard) mousepad and it stood up to that just fine. Once you have your replacement mouse skates in hand, it's now time to remove your old ones from the base of the mouse. There are a few different methods to do this, but we’ll cover the main, most reliable method (in our opinion):

With a little preparation and some simple steps, you can enjoy better control and performance like the pros. Of course one might say that a product at this price hasto come in a nice box, and I would agree. The SkyPAD is the most expensive mousepad I’ve ever tested, and with an MSRP of a whopping 120 dollars there’s not a lot of room for error with this product. The only minor downside is it once suddenly informed me that programmes were not available and to try again later. Sky tried to be helpful (their customer service is superb) but they suggested there was a global technical problem. The following day I found the same message and felt sky should have informed me that to delete the app and reinstall it via the app store would have solved the problem. I wasted hours to find this out by myself and to clear this error but it now works fine. Data usage, calls and texts to and from the Isle of Man and Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey and Ascension Island) are included as part of your UK allowance.

But I do notice that my gaming kids all seem to use pads on their wooden tables, so I guess in a professionally competitive environment you need to trade comfort for precision and speed. Unlimited Calls and Texts Inclusive calls to UK, Channel Isles and Isle of Man landlines (01, 02, & 03) and texts to UK, Channel Isles and Isle of Man mobile numbers (07). Subject to our acceptable use policy at sky.com/mobileterms. The best part? If you’re a Sky TV customer, Sky Go is part of your subscription, so there is no extra cost! This new 3.0 version is 50% thinner, 50% smoother, and 50% quieter than its predecessor according to SkyPAD. That’s a whole lot of improvements, but as I said I can’t comment on how this translates to the real world as I have never used the 2.0. I’m just including this information to be complete. PerformanceAh and yes, with ceramic tiles on the floor, I'd hate indistructible pads and tiles have go at each other: either winner would have me loose something... Your Sky Mobile services should be available within 24 hours of you activating the SIM card. Details about how to activate your SIM card will be sent with your SIM. Your cancellation rights will be sent to you with your full terms and conditions. You agree your Sky services may start during your cooling off period, you may still cancel your services within this but you'll need to pay for any services used up to that point (e.g. call costs).
