About this deal

It was hard to put down this story with its fast-paced action, clever twists, and excellent writing. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!

My eleven year got the first Amari book for his birthday and declared it "the best book I've ever read! It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. This timely, energetic, first-person narrative moves quickly with clear descriptions, a thrilling buildup, and strong messages about profiling. Artemis Fowl meets Men in Black in this magical second book in the New York Times and Indie bestselling Supernatural Investigations trilogy—perfect for fans of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky, the Percy Jackson series, and Nevermoor.

With this being said, I am really looking forward to the 3rd-book, which I expect to be absolutely epic. The Great Game is both mysterious and deadly, but among the winner’s magical rewards is Quinton’s last hope—so how can Amari refuse?

Her refusal triggers the Great Game, a deadly competition between born magicians to determine who will inherit these forces. As in the first book, the worldbuilding was also great and the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs was a super cool setting. B. Alston’s writing- it’s smooth and easy enough to read- and the characters were also pretty sweet, if a little underdeveloped. Artemis Fowl meets Men in Black in this magical second book in the New York Times bestselling Supernatural Investigations trilogy, soon to be a major movie starring Marsai Martin.

Also, middle book syndrome being what it is, this did feel like we were building a lot towards something.I would love for the world to expand in the next book and to get some answers regarding the history of the Bureau and the villains of the story. This challenge sparks the start of the Great Game, a competition to decide who will become the Night Brothers' successor and determine the future of magiciankind.

But as things go from bad to worse she finds herself locked in a battle against Dylan to see who will be crowned the head magician. I rarely look forward a book release any ore as I've got a bunch already to keep my mind occupied with. stars - While I don't think this is quite as strong as the first book (the game element in particular I felt was a bit off and dragged at times), the connection to Amari as our protagonist is definitely still there and the ending is such a cliffhanger! When she turns down the offer to head the League of Magicians to stand up against the animosity, she sets in motion a series of events that result in a deadly game for power and control. But between the fearsome new Head Minister's strict anti-magician agenda, fierce Junior Agent rivalries, and her brother Quinton's curse steadily worsening, Amari's plate is full.Wirklich nett von den Bösewicht*Innen, dass sie immer auf die Sommerferien warten, um Unfug zu treiben.
