It is a positive to move away from builds which double as Christmas tree ornaments and instead have a cohesive theme around a play scene. I really just wanted to tell you that I look forward to your blog of the calendars as much as I look forward to opening them myself, because I love your photos of the builds and figures and your excitement for each day. Day 13 of the 2020 Harry Potter Advent Calendars gives us another proper Yule Ball build, a stunning white Christmas tree – the likes that adorned the Hogwarts Great Hall in the Goblet of Fire movie. It looks great from nearly every single angle, and is quite possibly one of my favourite Advent Calendar builds ever. The calendar contains minifigures – including Harry Potter, Hermione Granger™, Ron Weasley™, Padma Patil, Parvati Patil and Cho Chang – and buildable models, such as a miniature Beauxbaton’s carriage and a dining table with ice-castle centrepiece.

So in Australia they are approximately half a day ahead of us and at some times of the day an entire day ahead of us. Includes Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Padma Patil, Parvati Patil and Cho Chang minifigures, plus buildable models such as a miniature Beauxbaton's carriage and dining table with an ice-castle centrepiece. It’s not THE strongest final build to cap off what has otherwise been an excellent Advent Calendar, but it does tie together the entire theme well.

P.S: my 13-year old brother got the Lego Friends advent calendar and placed the spares from the skateboard on the table. If you look at it side by side with set 75251, it’s a spot-on match and a nice wave to Ralph McQuarrie’s original concept.

Each advent calendar consists of 24 marked doors allowing you to open one door to reveal and build a small LEGO mini build or minifigure each day of December leading up to Christmas Eve on the 24th. These are slightly smaller and less ornate than Day 13’s large Christmas Tree, but are perfect to pad out and Christmas-ify the Yule Ball scene. Grand Piano – Albeit simple the Grand Piano is a piece that stands out not only because of its grandiose nature but also because of the printed 1×4 piano keys tile.

Every day it is me and my dad’s routine to open the advent calendar and then go onto your blog and see what it is and your thoughts on it. Read your SW calendar posts for years with my sons but they “outgrew” Lego advent calendars a couple of years ago. For 2020, I’ll be counting down with 3 Advent Calendars – Harry Potter, Friends and the annual Star Wars Advent Calendar countdown!
