Effective treatment and control of roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms in puppies and young dogs up to one year of age Drontal ® and Drontal ® Plus are generally given as a one-time treatment. However, if your veterinarian has instructed you to give Drontal ® or Drontal ® Plus on a periodic basis, speak with them about what to do if you forget to give a dose. Generally, do not give extra or double doses. Drontal® Possible Side Effects People who are particularly at risk include pregnant women, babies, toddlers and immunocompromised individuals such as the elderly, diabetics and people with HIV-infection.* It is recommended that treatment should be started from 2 weeks of age and should be repeatedly performed once every 2 weeks until weaning*. Thereafter you should ensure your puppy/dog is on a regular treatment plan.Worm infestation can be fatal in puppies and often it doesn’t show many obvious signs. It’s important to remember that worms can cause disease in people too, so regular worming of your puppy will give you peace of mind that you are helping keep these unwanted visitors away from them and your family. There are other illnesses that can also cause similar signs in your puppy, if you notice any of the above you should seek advice from your vet. This medication is not intended for use in humans. Brief exposure to temperatures between 59-86 F are acceptable. Vomiting and diarrhea are the most common signs of an overdose.
