About this deal

Nile Rodgers has kind words for EVERYBODY in his autobiography. For his Chic partner Bernard Edwards with whom they traveled so far together, for Andy Warhol, with whom he shared an emergency room, for his grandmothers Goodie and Lenora, their boyfriends (one of whose was a convicted killer, while another gave him his biggest "high" ever when he tuned his first guitar), for his often not very well behaved siblings, for his mom Beverly, for her boyfriends and lovers, he even has good things to say for (yet another) convicted killer who raped his mother. It’s an awe-inspiring reading list for any budding musician, not because the books chosen are brightened by the huge stars they cover but because Rodgers’ selection is so intelligent. He not only selects from the aforementioned heroes but also looks at producers like Phil Spector and Berry Gordy as well as books on the industry itself such as Hit Men: Power Brokers and Fast Money Inside the Music Business by Fredric Dannen. Due to high demand advance booking is essential. Trail entry is available in 10 minute timeslots. Please book the time that you would like to enter the trail, the trail takes approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour 30 minutes to complete. The Christmas Village will be available to enjoy before and after the trail, including rides and food and drink outlets.

Despite the digital portrait, Rodgers insists he does not give much thought to his legacy. “I think about maybe the death part, because now I’m 68 and I can do the maths. I think, ‘Jesus, I can only do so many records and so many projects – will I be able to finish them all?’” He reels off his latest collaborators: Rebecca Ferguson, SG Lewis, Keith Urban, Cedric Gervais and Franklin. It was 1963 and I was head over heels for a girl at my elementary school. She turned me on to The Beatles and we both commiserated when President Kennedy got shot. I walked her home from school that day. Aside from his work with Chic, Rodgers’ contributions as a producer and songwriter have earned him recognition as a music industry heavyweight. He’s worked on numerous albums that have sold millions of copies worldwide, including David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” Madonna’s “Like a Virgin,” and Duran Duran’s “Notorious,” and been awarded multiple Grammys.

I opened Nile Rodger’s memoir and honestly, had it not been for the Vine Program I would have missed out on enjoying one of the best books I’ve read this year. The members were also brought together after McCabe's stay in rehab, which sparked a turning point for the artist and a closer bond being formed between the members.Following his recovery (inspired, no less, by Keith Richards), the timeline fragments and the story effectively ends in 1996 (the book was published in 2011) with the death of Bernard Edwards, which is very touchingly dealt with. The epilogue jumps ahead fourteen years with a curt “it’s been a busy decade”, encompassing his work with his “We Are Family” foundation and the fundraising around 9/11 that I would have liked to have read in more detail. The same with the admission that he has cancer (he’s recently, as I write this, been given the all-clear), it seems like an odd place to leave a work that is, essentially, about hope and the triumph of his spirit. Anne-Marie has announced a tour of the nation's forests. She is one of the world’s most-loved and successful, globally renowned popstars of our time. Since bursting on the scene, Anne-Marie has become a multi-platinum and award-winning star with a string of chart-busting hits under her belt including ‘2002’, co- written by Ed Sheeran, ‘FRIENDS’ and ‘PSYCHO’ featuring rapper Aitch. With her newly released third album ‘Unhealthy’, going on to become her biggest selling album to date, Anne-Marie has firmly cemented herself as one of the biggest popstars in the UK. As with most autobiographies the book starts with childhood, and Nile describes his drug addict parents, and how he was sent across America to stay with relatives and so on, clearly older than his years, and he developed a love for music which eventually led to his career with Chic, plus as a songwriter and producer. It's a fascinating story and a surprisingly gripping read, and I found myself singing some of those songs to myself as he described their creation. Yes, the book is rather anecdotal at times ("and then we produced Diana Ross... and then I produced David Bowie... and then...") but aren't all autobiographies like that?I worked with Dylan on the film Feeling Minnesota and thought I had a good sense of who he is. This book revealed many things I didn't know. Dylan was one of the main spokesmen for the 60s counterculture. He confesses he was reluctantly drafted into this position. His greatest motivation was simply to be a musician/songwriter and earn a living doing so. The Americana he wrote about so passionately were mainly events that had happened long ago – but he wrote about them as if they were "current events". This is a fascinating look into a fascinating musical mind. 4. Beethoven's Letters As the Co-founder of CHIC, Nile pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like "Le Freak", the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records and sparked the advent of hip-hop with The “immersive, musical and theatrical roller disco experience” will open on June 16 at the Park’s Wollman Rink, where it will remain through Oct. 1, according to a press release.
