For short periods of time many headsets may receive a passing grade, but that’s not a good measure of comfort. Headsets are commonly worn for up to 8 hours, or in some cases, even longer. That’s the true test of comfort. I was less impressed with the sound quality when the mic boom was raised, but then again, when it’s raised, you’re probably going to be listening to music or some other audio, so sound quality in that mode isn’t critical. Speaking of the microphone boom, Jabra engineered the mic boom used on the Evolve2 75 to be 33% shorter than the boom used on the Evolve 75. If you were to ask a group of people whether they preferred a boom arm that’s longer or shorter, I’m pretty sure most would answer shorter.ANC is a handy feature that allows the headset wearer to regulate how much of the room noise is heard. Whether you’re contending with the sounds of babies crying, dogs barking or coworkers talking, ANC allows you to have control over what you hear. The Jabra Evolve2 75 has ANC, which Jabra refers to as concentration mode. This is just another way of referencing Active Noise Cancellation. If you’ve never used a headset with ANC, you really should try one to see how nice it really is. Honestly, I’d be surprised if the Evolve2 75 didn’t include it as ANC has become a standard feature on premium headsets. HearThrough I very much like this headset not only because it looks modern and well-built, but because it has some very attractive and useful technology features that users of this headset will find very beneficial. This is a very practical feature that allows the headset owner to continue using the headset even when recharging. Though a few makes and models of wireless headsets have this ability, it’s more uncommon than common. Nice to see this was an included feature on the Jabra Evolve2 75. Some of the things you can do include updating your firmware, adjusting call settings, personalizing the audio equalizer, getting bug fixes, adjusting the Active Noise Cancellation and HearThrough features, managing a group of headsets from a single point, and more. The microphones used in the Evolve2 75 are noise cancelling. This is something you’d expect on any wireless headset today, so no surprise here. Battery lifeThe Jabra Sound Plus app is available for iOS and Android devices. The smartphone app has many similar settings as the Jabra Direct app with a few other options, including using the earcup microphone for calls rather than the boom arm mic. Simply put, it sounds awesome. Then again, that’s my take. Yours might be different. Unlike in the past where headsets came with a single microphone, the headsets of today are upping that by incorporating multiple microphones that are designed to provide better audio quality. And I’d say they’re doing a good job at it. That is, how do you feel during that stretch of time, and how do you feel on your way home? Those are the times that you’ll come to appreciate all the engineering that’s gone into the development of a headset. This makes your busy status more visible over the previous version. Also, when you’re on a Team's call, the light moves to purple rather than red. This is to notify those around you that you’re on a Teams call. The Jabra Evolve2 75 has smart sensors that detect when the headset is on, and when it’s off.
